My little drummer boy

So I had to post this because it made me laugh so hard. Someone at Joe's work made it and sent it out with the title Little Drummer Boy Joe. Definitely made my day. :) I wish I had a picture of what he wore to work today for the his work Christmas party. I think it consisted of an awful Christmas sweater, a pair of my Christmas pajama pants (way too short), his slippers and probably a few extra random things...and boy does he look good. :) I love my husband. I hope you guys all have a wonderful Christmas!

Electrocuted

So last night was an interesting night for me. We have been slowly changing our outlets from this nasty yellow color to all white, and we haven't quite gotten all the plates on to cover them up so you won't get electrocuted. :) Anyway, last night I walked in the house, talking to Joe on the phone, and went to switch on the light right by the door (which I never turn on) and somehow stuck my car key into the light switch box (not sure the technical name). Sparks went everywhere, I felt a little buzz :) and half my hand was turned black. After the initial scream, and Joe wondering what the heck happened, I collected myself and tried to turn the lights on. Well none of the lights on the first floor worked, so I went downstairs to the breaker box and that was an easy fix. I come back upstairs and decided to check out my car key, which is also quite black at this point, and I notice some different parts that had been melted, it looked like little meteors had been dropped all over my key. So I thought, this can't be good, and decided to go try it in my car. Well you guessed right, it didn't fit, and it is my only key....and there's no way to copy it now since parts were missing. :) So Joe finally got home and we worked on it for a little bit, trying to chissle off the bubbles of metal and scrape it back into shape, tried it a few times and it still wouldn't fit. Finally, I decided to try the exact-o knife, which isn't always safe for me, but after a little scraping, and a lot of praying I walked out and successfully started my car! I think I got a little teary eyed because I was so happy that it worked! Thank you Lord! We'll see how it ends up working for the next few days because this morning I almost couldn't turn my car off once I got to work, and that could've been a problem. Good times in the Wethje home. Luckily every one is safe, and last night I put some covers on our outlets.

A Year Ago Today

A year ago today, Joe took me to NYC for my birthday, and proposed to me in Rockefeller center. This past year has been an absolute whirlwind, and I can't believe a year has already past.

Joe: I'm so glad you asked me to be your wife. Life with you has been more fun then I could ever imagine. You know exactly what to say or do to make me laugh, and you seem to be constantly doing it. :) I love the way you always seek to serve and bless me. I love when you call me on the way home and when it takes you quite a bit longer to get home then it should, I know you're stopping to get me flowers. You are such an amazing, godly man and I couldn't be more blessed to have you as my husband. Thank you for the way you consistently encourage me and also bring correction where it is needed. I know your desire is for me to grow to be more like our Savior, and I see that daily as we are living life together, in the way you love and care for me. You are more then I could ever ask for, and I can't wait to see what the Lord has for us over the next few years. I love you baby!

Sickness

Well my poor hubby has been sick this past week. I stayed home with him on Tuesday and we've been resting all week but he hasn't been able to kick whatever he has. Luckily the Lord has been kind and has kept me healthy, that way I can take care of my boy. So pray for him that he would heal quickly and that I don't get sick also. :)

On another note, my sister sent me this picture a couple weeks ago of my neice and nephews and I just had to post it. Every time I look at it I laugh so hard. They are being super heros, and they used their underwear as part of their costume, I'm not sure how the underwear helps them with their super hero powers, but I've seen several other pictures with it on their heads so it seems to be helping somehow. They are the sweetest little guys. It was such a joy having them down for our wedding and I can't wait to see them in January!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Pray for my sick husband!

First post as a newly wed!

Well, I didn't actually think I would ever start a blog, because they seem like so much work to keep up with. But I've been having so much fun being married and my life seems to be full of crazy stories, and if any of you know my husband you are probably not surprised by that. So I thought I would give this whole thing a go. :) We'll see how often I actually make a post.
